How do I download my Instagram data?

Why do I need to choose JSON format instead of HTML?

JSON format contains structured data that can be analyzed programmatically. HTML format is designed for human reading and cannot be parsed by our tool. Always select JSON when exporting your Instagram data.

How long does the Instagram data export take?

The export time varies depending on your account size. It typically takes a few minutes to several hours. Instagram will send you an email notification when your data is ready to download.

Is my data stored on any server?

No. All file processing happens entirely in your browser using JavaScript. Your Instagram data never leaves your device and is never uploaded to any external server. Once you close the page, all data is gone.

Can I check unfollowers without downloading my data?

What is a mutual follow?

A mutual follow means both you and the other person follow each other on Instagram. FollowCheck shows you who doesn't follow you back (not mutual), who only follows you, and who you mutually follow.

Why are some follow dates shown as unknown?

Instagram's data export may not include timestamps for older follows. If a follow was made before Instagram started tracking this data, the date will appear as unknown.

Does this work with private Instagram accounts?
